He tutored under Maester Luwin, and received spiritual education from the forest child Leaf. In his early youth he spent time visiting all the houses of the north to get acquainted with his future vassals, this tour continued until the Iron Kinslaying War of 288 AC. At the time he was in the port city of Wolfsden near Barrowton. The Ironborn, led by the Kinslayer, and false King Euron 'Crows Eye' Greyjoy, assaulted the west coast of the North. A small raiding party attacked the town, and though repulsed, it was there the crowned prince killed his first man.
He was given lordship over Moat Cailin after his 16th nameday, the newly named seat of the heir apparent, as a means of preparing him for his upcoming role as King. His close relationship with his cousin Rikkard Stark, legitimized son of Lord Benjen Stark, resulted in Moat Cailin being considered one of the main hosts for Wolfswood Sons, the company created by Rikkard, and several bastards of the High Lords. Though not an official member of the company, Robert had on several occasions rode out with them to enforce the Kings Peace, and hear grievance. This has started build a reputation among the smallfollk, and further build prestige for the King of Winter.
He, like his twin Sister and youngest brother, bears the blond hair and green eyes of Queen Cersei. Giving way to the common phrase "Stark wolves with Lannister crowns".
